Last Minute Christmas Pressies

Hi :)
With only a couple days until Christmas have you found yourself in the situation where you haven't bought someone's Christmas presents yet? Hopefully after reading this you'll be able to find some cheap, different ideas before your gift needs to be given!

All photos were found through google images
I've always found mum to be one of the easiest people to buy for but maybe that's just me. Some easy ideas are a small cookbook, 'smellies' -hand cream, bath salts, bath bombs, lotions and candles-, small pieces of jewellery (here in Australia places like diva, equip and lovisa sell these for fairly cheap) or a pretty decoration for the Christmas tree. If you're handy in the kitchen you could whip up a batch of cookies or cupcakes and package them nicely. Even just offering to do some work around or cooking a nice meal is a nice gesture.

Dad on the other hand I find the hardest to buy for, most of the time he's not clear on what he wants so I go with the obvious. His favourite TV series on DVD is always a good choice, a new book by his favourite author is also a good choice, socks and jocks- but only if you're really desperate and I find with my dad chocolate ALWAYS works or at least gets on his good side for another year.

Pretty much 12-117- Books, money/giftcards, something for her hobby, a movie/tv series, clothes, jewellery, 'smellies', a framed picture of you two, a magazine subscription (slightly more pricey but fairly instant).

A Good Time for A Great Christmas Movie

Hi :)

I have to admit I'm a HUGE sucker for a good Christmas movie.

Elf- 2003 (PG)
Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa's sack and ended up at the North Pole. Later, as an adult human who happened to be raised by elves, Santa allows him to go to New York City to find his birth father, Walter Hobbs. Hobbs, on Santa's naughty list for being a heartless jerk, had no idea that Buddy was even born. Buddy, meanwhile, experiences the delights of New York City (and human culture) as only an elf can. When Walter's relationship with Buddy interferes with his job, he is forced to reevaluate his priorities.

A Boyfriend For Christmas- 2004 (G)
On Christmas Day, Santa brings two lonely people together. But can love overcome deception?
Christmas With The Kranks- 2004 (PG)
Luther Krank is fed up with the commerciality of Christmas; he decides to skip the holiday and go on a vacation with his wife instead. But when his daughter decides at the last minute to come home, he must put together a holiday celebration.
Home Alone- 1990 (PG)
8-year-old Kevin McCallister is accidentally left behind when his family takes off for a vacation in France over the holiday season. Once he realizes they've left him home by himself, Kevin learns to fend for himself. He eventually has to protect his house against bumbling burglars Harry and Marv, who are planning to rob every house in Kevin's suburban Chicago neighborhood. Kevin's mother Kate is frantic when she realizes that she and the family have unintentionally left Kevin behind in Chicago, and she tries to make it back to Chicago as fast as she can, getting help from a polka band leader named Gus Polinski.
The Best Man Holiday- 2013 (R?- questionable)
When college friends reunite after 15 years over the Christmas holidays, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.
The Grinch- 2000 (PG)
Based on the book by the famous Dr. Seuss. Inside a snowflake exists the magical land of Whoville. In Whoville, live the Whos, an almost mutated sort of munchkinlike people. All the Whos love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos which he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriend the Grinch.
The Santa Clause- 1994 (PG)
When a man inadvertantly kills Santa on Christmas Eve, he finds himself magically recruited to take his place.

I hope you enjoy these movies too!

Sidenote- I just want to say that keep in mind everyone has different opinions on movies and some of these may not be your cup of tea.

3 Ways To Style A Christmas Jumper

Hi :)

Today I thought I would stick to this Christmas theme and make a post on 3 different ways to style a Christmas jumper.

The Christmas jumper used in this post is the River Island white holly jumper - $33 (AUD)

Made using
Casual Dressy- Skater skirt
For a casual dressy look, pair your Christmas jumper with a plain black skater skirt, for colder weather wear a pair of black stockings. Wear a pair of plain black boots, the style and heel height will also change how dressy your outfit is. Leave your hair in loose, beachy waves and leave your make-up fairly plain but add a pop of colour with a deep red lipstick.

Made using
Family day- Jeans
For a casual day spending time with your family, pair your Christmas jumper with your favourite pair of skinny jeans. Wear ugg boots or a pair of plain black flats, you can also wear a cream coloured beanie and a pair diamanté earrings (The ones in the picture look like snowflakes :3). Leave your hair out and straight but use a texturising spray to give it volume and texture (duh). Keep your make-up natural with a deep red lip.

Made using
Casual day (Picinic, garden etc.)- Shorts
For an outside, casual day pair your Christmas jumper with a pair of high-waisted shorts. Wear a pair of black or white converse, vans, toms or shoes similar. Put your hair in a plaited sock bun and put a red bow under it. Keep your make-up neutral with a nude lip, keep your jewellery minimal and all the same colour.

Good luck with your Christmas day outfit!

My Christmas List

Hey :)

As the countdown to Christmas day slowly decreases I thought what better first post than my list for Christmas!

Princess Polly- Sunny skies skater skirt $50
I personally think that skater skirts are really flattering on all body shapes and this one is so cute. The colours are also perfect for Summer :)

Arctic Monkey's band tee- $17.99
I don't normally wear band merchandise as I think it can look tacky, but I've been a huge fan of the Arctic Monkeys for a while now and I thought this was a nice shirt and it's not too over-the-top like some other band merchandise. Also as it's a mens fit it will be oversized and I think it will be good for casual days/ lounging around.

Adidas Adipure Trainer- (On sale) Rebel Sport $60
This is a bit of a cheat as I already know that I'm getting these because I had to try them on before they were bought. We got a great deal at a Rebel sport outlet centre and they were about half off I believe. I wore through my old sneakers (Nike Training In Season Tr 2) after about a year and a half and am looking forward to trying these new ones out.

Princess Polly- Celebrate playsuit $50
This playsuit is so cute and great for putting over swimmers etc. It comes in pink and aqua.

Real Techniques- Stippling brush $10
I've been needing a stippling brush for AGES now after using my fingers for years (whoops). I've heard amazing things about this brush and brand in particular but I've never tried them and am hoping they live up to the reviews.

So that's my Christmas list this year, what are you asking for?
